Our Story
The name 'Bottom Line' has a story behind it. The grandmother of founders Phil Hemingway was a determined, opinionated, but gracious and fun-loving matriarch known to family and close friends as 'Tootsie.' Her real name was Gladys Belmont Mitchell, but as family nicknames tend to do, 'Gladys' took on a life of its own, eventually becoming 'Happy Bottom.' In her honor, and because we take pride in being a family business, we named our parent corporation Happy Bottom, Inc. back in 2006. When it came time to name our digital communications company, 'Bottom Line' just seemed a natural fit. Our brand has evoked plenty of discussion and a lot of good-hearted laughs. That's what families are all about.
We started as a print and direct mail expert serving Charleston businesses. We loved helping local companies get their message into the hands of their customers. But as the digital landscape evolved, we noticed something: our clients needed more than just great print. They were juggling web developers, SEO freelancers, and multiple print vendors, losing time and money in the process. So we built BOOST. to solve exactly that problem for the businesses we'd come to love serving. Today, Bottom Line combines our print legacy with a powerhouse digital marketing platform to give you one trusted local partner for everything.
